Shifting Baselines
Most of us know that shifting baselines are slow, hard-to-notice changes that occur in daily life. Shifting baselines happen everywhere in the world, such as ocean acidification, how it changes from the 90s until now. So as for air pollution, it also has its own shifting baselines. As you can see, in the first picture, the air was much cleaner. Whereas in the second picture, it shows that the polluted air covered almost the entire city. This is a shifting baseline that hard for us to notice everyday. In order to protect our health and our society, we should prevent shifting baselines from happening.
